Landmark Online Gathering of Pan-African Progressives Concludes with Unified Call for Action

01.04.2026

The Pan-African Progressive Front (PPF) has successfully concluded its Online Conference on Reparative Justice and Colonial Accountability, held on March 30, 2026. The virtual gathering brought together 97 participants from 36 countries and 36+ organisations across Africa and the diaspora, marking a significant step in digital Pan-African organizing.

The conference served as a key platform for engagement ahead of the upcoming Geneva Forum on Reparative Justice and Colonial Accountability. Participants exchanged perspectives on historical injustices, reparations, and the enduring impact of colonial systems on the continent.

A central outcome of the discussions was a unified call for a strategic shift in approach. Speakers emphasized that reliance on appeals for apologies or compensation from former colonial powers risks perpetuating dependency. Instead, the conference underscored the need to reposition activism as a tool for political and economic liberation.

The event stands as a milestone in strengthening global Pan-African collaboration and reaffirming a shared commitment to transformative, self-determined solutions.
