The Pan-African Progressive Front (PPF) has released a statement regarding the participation of French President Emmanuel Macron as a keynote speaker at the High-Level Next Steps Conference on Reparatory Justice to be held in Accra from 17–19 June 2026.
While welcoming Ghana's leadership in advancing the global reparations agenda, the PPF raises concerns about France's record on reparatory justice and outlines several actions it believes France must take to demonstrate genuine commitment to accountability and restitution.
The full statement sets out the PPF's position in detail, including its views on France's voting record at the United Nations, the CFA franc system, the question of Haiti's historical debt, the return of African cultural artefacts, and the broader reparations movement.
